story for kids : Faithful Dog

A farmer keshaw living with his family. He had faithful dog with his. He named him moti. 


It was a midnight. Keshaw was tired and exhausted. he was fast asleep in his cottage. His faithful dog Moti was laying outside the hut. Moti was carefully guarding the life and property of his master. 


A thief entered into hut. On seeing this the dog began to bark loudly to awaken his master. The farmer got up, but he was angry with the dog for having disturbed him in his sleep. Blinded by anger, Keshaw took a spade laying near him and threw it violently at the dog. The spade struck the dog's head, and within a moment, the faithful dog fell down dead. 

But frrightened by this unexpected incident the thief began to run away. On seeing the thief, the farmer immediately realized why the dog was barking. He approached the dog to put him on his back. But it was to late. and keshaw found that his faithful dog was laying dead in a pool of blood. 

" Ay me, what a foolish man i am ? What a rash and thoughtless deed i done ? How much heartless I am ? Without finding the reason of dog bark i put him to the death. Oh God, Please forgive me." 

But all his shout for dog was meaningless. It is rightly said, " look before you leap."
