Story for Kids : Foolish King

King Soma, of olden times was very found of horse riding. He had kept many noble horses to follow his hobby. If he found that a particular horse, in his stock, was not to his satisfaction, he immediately sell it. On the other hand, if he good horse any where in his territory he would perches it at any cost. So many horse dealers were in cotact with the king. 

Once
a horse dealer reached to the king. Dealer had some horses with him. The king observed all the horses carefully. But they were not up to his satisfaction. At last dealer promised him to be back with the better horses if their price paid in advance. The king was in the fit of passion. So he agreed and paid the price of horses in advance. It was really a large sum. 

Days went on passing. King always thinking when the horse dealer come with horses. 

One day jester of king's kingdom reach to the court. He pleased the king. After some talk he told to the king that he prepared the list of foo in their kingdom and he want to put it in front of king. King read that list and found his name topping the list. The king lost his tamper and order to hang the jester tell the death. 

But the minister of king come to help the jester. Minister told to king, " Maharaj, before hanging the jester please ask him why he put your name in the top ? " 

King respected the suggestion of his minister and asked the jester. 

Jester said that, " Maharaj you don't know from where that horse dealer is. He was not from our kingdom. You don't know where he will really bring the horses or not. If he bring the horses of what quality horses he bring. Still you paid large amount to him." 

King realizes his mistake still tried to argue saying dealer had promised. On that jester politely told that why we should we believe ? Than king said, " What will you say if dealer returns with good horse or not with good horses he reruns the amount we paid?" 

Jester laughed and said," In that case your name will replace yours." 

Lesson : We should not believe the person to whom we never seen before.
